Trailer Jack Stands For Your Fleet or Loading Dock Semi-Trailers

Trailer jack stands fit snugly underneath loaded trailers at your loading dock.  They guard against collapse of the landing gear due to old age, lack of certainty about load weight, uneven loads and inertial forces of loading and unloading caused by powered equipment like forklifts.

Auto Stand Plus Trailer Jack Stands

A great heavy-duty option. The top of IWI’s line up. This trailer jack stand has a gas shock self leveling system. It auto adjusts height. The lever system delivers back saving ergonomics and easy positioning. It’s patented design is strongstable and reliable.

Auto Stand Trailer Jack Stands

A strong yet less ergonomic design than the Auto Stand Plus the Auto Stand is designed for heavy-duty use with a large base, gas shock leveling system that auto adjusts for height. A great option, with a strong and functional design.

Two- Post Trailer Jack Stands

A great two post solution. Each post has a spin bar that quickly and smoothly adjusts the height. One post comes out of the unit and can be set on the oposite end or the trailer. It is relatively light weight and easy for the worker to remove from the unit cart.

Rachet Top Trailer Jack Stands

This unit requires two per trailer set at either end.  The handle and the rachet top make adjusting the hieght of the post a simple operation.  They are easily moved around your loading dock.  A simple, strong and reliable option.

OSHA’s Powered industrial trucks standard, at 29 CFR 1910.178(k)(3), states that: “… jacks may be necessary to support a semi-trailer and prevent upending during loading or unloading when the trailer is not coupled to a tractor.”  Anywhere Federal Osha standards are enforced than trailer jack stands are required.  All our trailer jack stands are OSHA compliant.  If your workplace or state does not comply with OSHA regs than please refer to your state regulations.

Among the key safety measures in the workplace, trailer stands keep your loading dock running smoothly and prevent costly shutdowns, injuries or worse during day to day operations.  Trailer jack stands are a safeguard against vendors or operators that have not done proper maintenance or inspection on the trailers landing gear coming into your loading dock.  Loads are often dropped at busy loading docks or when arrival is too late or too early.  Prevent clean up and the hassle of a damaged trailer clogging up the arteries of your business with a sound policy on the use of trailer jack stands.

We carry a variety of different options in trailer stands.  All are ergonomic, easy to use set up and take down, with proven reliability.  Our heavy-duty trailer jack stands are suited for high traffic and low traffic docks.  They are easily portable wheeled units that deliver high static load capacities of up to 100,000lbs.  Take a look at our individual models for more information.  Our heavy-duty IWI Auto-Stand and Auto-Stand plus as well as our rachet top and twin post models are there to preform while meeting you needs day in day out at a great value.  Click on your model of choice for specs and pricing.

The Risk of not using Trailer Jack Stands

With tractors disengaged from semi-trailers they sit on the landing gear.  When they are “spotted” on the landed gear they are more vulnerable to the stresses created by the combined weights of cargo and forklifts.  Trailers can tilt or upend, landing gear can collapse, creating terrible outcomes for workers caught within, damage to cargo and the flow of products at your loading dock due to a potential shutdown.

The semi-trailer’s safety while spotted is impacted by factors such as weight, number of axles, landing gear position and forklift position.  Knowing the cause and effect relationship for every load and every trailer is beyond the scope of operators even with decades of experience.  This is a guessing game that can make every loading and unloading situation a risky one.

Trailer jack stands are great secondary supports that guard against uneven loads, inertia caused by forklift movement and improperly inspected or damaged landing gear.  IWI’s line up of trailer jack stands are available in a variety of models to suit your needs.  These great trailer jacks are easily moved around your loading dock with minimal effort and are user friendly for all your workers.  Find out more about specs and application by clicking on your model of interest.
